About the Tutor

Tanaz Irani fell in love with the sound of the piano when she first heard her school-mate practicing for her lessons at the age of 8, and has never looked back since.
She completed the DipABRSM in 2004 & Licentiate for the Royal Schools of Music in 2006 with the highest marks in quick study under the tutelage of Roxana Anklesaria-Doctor whilst attending & auditing courses in piano pedagogy, piano repertoire, music history & advanced harmony at the Academy of Music, Pune.
She has studied with Dr. Kedarnath Awati, Dr. Nicolas Constantinou and Dr. Dina Savvidou with lessons and masterclasses by Fali Pavri, Marouan Benabdallah, Paul Stewart, Mary Tickner, Matthieu Gaudet, Einar Steen Nøkleberg, Marialena Fernandes, Stephen Perry, Fareed Curmally, Jane Magrath, Barbara Fast and Manolis Neophytou.
She was a runner-up in a national-level music festival, MusiQuest 2007. With humble beginnings of a small piano studio in 2009, the Klaviar School of Music grew into a body of 60 students with the unyielding support of her assistant teachers who also studied under her.
Her students have been finalists and winners of national piano competitions and have gone on to pursue their own music careers.
She was visiting faculty and responsible for designing the curriculum for the Practical Instrument course of a liberal arts university, FLAME.
Equipped with a Masters degree in Music (Summa cum Laude) from the University of Nicosia, her current interest in music education has led her to pursue teacher certification with the British Kodály Association.
She has taught in Cyprus at well-reputed music schools- Mavromoustaki School of Music and MusicSing; participated in choirs; trained with vocal tutor Andreas Aroditis and attended Classical piano lessons with Dr. Nicolas Constantinou. She regularly updates herself with workshops and clinics in Cyprus, U.K. and Europe.
In her spare time, she educates herself in areas of piano pedagogy, music education, psychology and business; besides learning Greek, German and Russian. Her hobbies include pottery, calligraphy, sketching and fitness.
